Alexander Utendal (c.1530/40-1581) is a highly underrated composer, who worked at the Innsbruck court chapel.  He set all seven Penitential Psalms, which were published in 1570.  These are well-crafted and richly scored compositions for four voices.  I have performed them using sampled brass and string instruments in conjunction with a sequencer.  Below are premiere recordings of the complete Penitential Psalms.  I hope these recordings will help lead to a greater appreciation of Utendal's music and lead to choral performances and recordings.
